I graduated from West Bloomfield High School in 1999 and went on to attend Wayne State University. I graduated with a Degree in Business Management. While many students don’t know what they want to be when they grow up, I knew exactly what direction I wanted to take in life. In high school I was very active in marketing. As part of D.E.C.A. (an organization of marketing students) I competed with students throughout the state. My competition was strictly role playing in the hospitality industry. I went on from districts to state winning medals. That was when I knew exactly what I wanted to do - I wanted to be involved in the hospitality industry - it’s my passion! Without a passion for what you’re doing, it won’t matter how good you are, you just won’t be able to have that “feel” for the industry. I began my tenure at Tam-O-Shanter Country Club at the age of sixteen as a server assistant. It involved watering tables, making bread baskets, clearing and resetting tables and assisting servers. The position kept me on my feet! I gained discipline and a lot of knowledge from being a server assistant. I was later promoted to being an expeditor. As an expeditor, it was my responsibility to ensure that proper menu items were cooked and garnished per member preference. It was also my responsibility to make sure the kitchen was stocked and organized throughout lunch and dinner. While working on my degree in business administration, Tam O’Shanter Country Club was able to develop an internship position which allowed me to gain and utilize knowledge in management. The internship prepared me to assume the responsibilities as an assistant service director, which involved assisting the dining room manager with his daily schedule as well as directing the food and beverage staff to ensure member satisfaction. In March of 2004, I was offered the position of Dining Room Manager. In that capacity, I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of Dining Room functions and also implementing new styles of service to all food and beverage venues throughout the club, from the card room to the pool. A year later I was offered a promotion to Assistant Clubhouse Manger. In that position I was responsible for assisting the clubhouse manager with her day to day operations including but not limited to; Locker Room Staff, Fitness, Housekeeping, Maintenance Valet and Front Desk Staff. In 2007 I was promoted to Clubhouse Manger and In 2012 I was promoted to General Manger. I enjoy all aspects of my position at the Club, especially the personalized service and interaction with the Members we serve. Tam-O-Shanter has become a ‘Way of Life” not only for me, but for my family. My mother, Anna is the Manager of Tam’s SnackStand, and my brothers Lance and Chris, were the founders/owners of the Valet Service used at the Club! I am married to my lovely wife Rasha and together we have 2 amazing girls. Ava Marie who was born on April 15th, 2011 and Mia Grace who was born on May 5th, 2013
